By accepting the settings made within this dialog, a new request context is created, which is then passed to a newly created URL window. Depending on further selections made, additional windows may be opened too which also get that request context.
The following parameters can be specified within this dialog:
Specifies the URL of a document
that should be fetched and displayed immediately after opening the
URL window. All URLs allowed there can
also be used here, especially the URL cache:list
may be used to immediately open a Cache
window in case a cache is in use. Additionally, this field provides a
predefined list of some common URLs which is stored in the
configuration file.
Defines the location of a proxy-server or gateway that should be used to fetch documents from other servers. Additionally, this field provides a predefined list of some common proxy-server addresses which is stored in the configuration file.
Defines the path to a new or existing main e-mail
directory that does already or will
contain the subdirectories inbox
, outbox
,
sent
, log
and the files index.dir
and
index.mid
. The directories and files are created as needed if
they do not already exist. Using this parameter causes an instance of the
e-mail application to be made part of the
request context that is
created by this dialog.
Specifies the name of a new or existing directory that should be used as a cache. All requests originating from windows that use the request context that is created by this dialog are going through that cache.
Specifies the prefix (directory plus basename) of an existing dictionary, preferably one that has been built from the cache that is specified by the CacheDir parameter. Using this parameter causes an additional Dictionary window to be opened.
Connections to other servers are disabled when this option is checked. An associated cache that is specified by the CacheDir parameter is called to be in off-line mode in this case which is highly recommended when using a merged cache.
Checking this option and saving the settings enables all these actions to be done automatically on startup of the application or when opening a new screen.
